She continues to love her mat. She is such an observer...looking at all of the animals, colors, and herself in the mirror. Yesterday I put one of the toys in her hand and she had so much fun flailing it around - even if she did bop herself in the face a couple of times :). She is definitely becoming more interested in toys as her eyes light up at her rattles where she paid little attention to them before.
We have had some fun outings...like a trip to the mall to meet our new friend Connor. Bethany and I were 4-5 weeks apart with our due dates...we spent some evenings at prenatal yoga (see yoga below :). Madeline and Connor were such great babies at the mall...snoozing away in their strollers as walked and talked about being new moms. I always used to make fun of the EP mall moms...now I am one of them!
We also spent a morning with my friend Catherine and her little girl Evelyn and nearly 3 year old boy Owen. It is crazy to think that we met in college and are now married with kids!! I am so lucky to have awesome friends that can give awesome mom advise, and am so excited for all of these little guys to be friends someday! It is crazy how a couple of months separates them so much now...
We traveled to stillwater on Saturday for the annual frozen bocce tournament - the results were disappointing as the team won their first game but lost the next two bouncing them from the tournament. Always fun to hang out with our Stillwater friends and for the first time in a long time, the weather was fabulous so we could actually watch the games without our drinks freezing! Madeline had too much to drink, so we had to head home :).
To celebrate Madeline's 8 week birthday...we decided to go to baby yoga this morning. We went to the same studio that I went to when I was pregnant and it was crazy to think of all of the conversations we had in that studio anticipating these little people...now they were there doing yoga with us! The teacher warned us at the beginning of class that their first class might overstimulate these little guys and it may be a couple of classes before they enjoy it...however, Madeline jumped the learning curve and had a blast watching all of the other kids and women as we moved from baby yoga into some yoga for ourselves holding our babies. She had so much fun she fell asleep at the end of class...taking the relaxation portion to a whole new level :). The teacher even commented on how well she did -- good work Madeline!
And last but not least...her 8 week pictures...

We have also had to cancel some outings this week due to some sick kiddos...there seems to be so much garbage going around again! For the healthy kids out there - we hope you stay that way...and to the sick kids...we hope you are feeling much better soon! We are hoping some of this clears up before Madeline heads to daycare in a month - yikes!
I did some blog catch up today, so be sure to read the last couple of posts!!
