Happy Camper

Jeremy and I bought few things in anticipation of our little peanut...but we saw this onsie and had to buy it (if you can't read it - it says "Happy Camper"). I am glad I found it as she will be in the next size soon!

Jeremy and I have so many memories camping over the past couple of summers. From our first trip out to Taylor's Falls where we randomly packed up the car, my brother's dog murphy and left town on a late Friday night in May. Once we got there we realized that we weren't as prepared as we thought we were...we were lacking a mallet to put the tent stakes in...so we used a rock...I can't remember all of the other blunders, but it sure didn't slow us down - it turned out to be a nice weekend and the beginning of many camping adventures.

Every year since, we have headed up to the north shore in April or early May to split rock lighthouse...we have encountered cold, snow, rain but surprisingly enough have always had some nice afternoons to go hiking, build a fire (much earlier than in the evening just to keep warm!) and enjoy some great conversation with some of our favorite camping treats, usually including our friends Jack and Jerry.

We also started an annual tradition of heading up to Madeline Island in Wisconsin with friends and family. Every year we have added some additional participants and this was the first year with kids as Allie Cannon ventured out to the island with us. From our first year of biking to the Island Oasis with Jeff and Sarah, to adding my father who was replacing the Cannons who were anxiously awaiting the arrival of Allie to this past summer when we added another site as we increased our head count to 10, we have always had a blast, and I can't wait to create more memories as the summers go on!

If these pictures are telling the story...we hope Madeline will like hiking, camping and the outdoors as much as we do!
