Jeremy and I used to be pretty diverse in our love of outdoor activities and sports and I loved being "well rounded" when it comes to activities. Friends of mine used to joke that I could play roughly 7 sports out of the trunk of the car in the summer - and unfortunately it was true!
With the arrival of Madeline, we unfortunately can't be as diverse in our activities yet, but we do enjoy a good walk or hike - and we are finding that she does too!
After the first stroll around the house after assembling the Bob, it has become one of our best friends!
We started using it in Denver...
I was able to take tons of walks on my last week of maternity leave and the weekend after Jeremy and I ventured to the Carver Park Preserve in Victoria. There are several lakes, tons of trails, a park, nature preserve and a campground (where we took Mikko on her first camping adventure!). Jeremy and his eagle eyes spotted some swans on the way into the park, and we decided to scope out the lake to see if they were still there. We weren't disappointed as we thought we would scare them off - but they kept swimming closer and closer - such amazingly beautiful (and enormous) birds!!
Our other favorite (especially Mikko's) is the dog park in Chanhassen. It is such a beautiful walk through the woods and Mikko can always find a couple of friends to expend her energy on! Madeline usually goes from snoozing to watching the trees around her.
and Mikko usually works up an appetite...
We have been SO lucky this spring. the weather has been amazing which has allowed us to have many more outdoor adventures that I would have ever imagined at this time of year! And as the days get longer we are able to spend more and more time in the evenings on a walk, run or a hike.
