Daffodil Days

Here I go pushing some of my favorite childhood memories on Madeline, but the pictures and the day were amazing, so I don't feel guilty :).

When I was growing up in western New York, every spring my friend Mandy and I would ride our bikes to the most enormous daffodil patch ever! We would pick hundreds of them and bring them back to give to everyone we knew (especially mom :). It was my first struggle with capitalism, as they ended up building a house on our daffodil patch, crushing our favorite spring pastime. I remember being so upset that anyone would ever think of destroying our daffodil patch.

On yet another beautiful spring day in Minnesota, Jeremy and I decided to head over to the arboretum to mix up our walking adventures (the only downfall is that Mikko can't join us!)

While we were waiting for Jeremy, I gave one of the daffodils to Madeline to hold, and it was the greatest photo shoot ever, as she was smiling and giggling playing with this daffodil! The only downfall is that she is watching Jeremy over my shoulder, so she isn't looking at the camera, but they were great. I usually take 30 pictures, and 1 or 2 are cute. This time I couldn't even decide!

Next we headed out to the Arboretum and we were extremely surprised that there were so many spring flowers in bloom - this cool tulip with "Kaufman" in the name and of course including daffodils...

We went on the 3 mile walk around the Arboretum...it is a little hilly, but very scenic...

And ended our walk in the Daffodil patch - what an amazing day!

That evening we went over to Stephanie and Kade's house to watch the final four (which we didn't pay much attention to) dye easter eggs with their son Alex.  Alex was great at sharing his toys with Madeline and it was fun to put her on the big kid toys!  It will be so fun when she can actually play with these big kid toys!
