What's in a name...

We have received many questions on Madeline's name, how we picked it, etc. Everyone expects there to be a story - well in Madeline's case, she was named after a story :).

My mother tells me when I was a little girl we would head to the library and I would return a Madeline book, walk right back to the same section and take out the same Madeline books. So I guess you would say they were my favorite books as a little girl (although those of you who have read them lately may wonder why...but I guess you could say that about most beloved kids books!). I knew at a very young age that if I had a little girl that I wanted to name her Madeline. I even brought it up to Jeremy before we got married to make sure he was on board.

My mother must have had some mother's intuition of her own as she got Baby K the Madeline book for Christmas (not knowing that she was a girl or that we were going to name her Madeline), but it made for some really cute pictures while my parents were here.

I am sure you can see the resemblance between our Madeline and the one in the stories (thanks for the adorable doll Teri and David!)




As for her middle name - June - it isn't a family name or a special month as most people suspect - just an adorable little girl that lived in our condo in St. Paul and we thought it would be fun for a middle name.

In other news...this adorable little outfit she is wearing in these pictures is officially too small - not that I thought she would be in newborn clothes forever, but confirmation that our baby isn't going to be a newborn forever :). I did make her get one more wear out of it before it is retired to the outgrown clothes bin.
