Well, I feel like we have two swimming success stories so far this summer.
From the earlier post, Mikko has greatly improved her swimming form, and Jeremy is no longer hovering on the shore fearing she may drown. In fact, it has become a part of our nightly walking routine to toss her flappy toy into Lake Susan for a couple of rounds to add some additional wear out factor every night. We don't know how long she would actually fetch for as she hasn't ever willingly stopped! Madeline loves hiking or strolling to the local watering hole and observing her puppy swim!
June also marked Madeline's first swimming lessons....now I use the word lessons lightly....obviously she is only 6 months old...so the time was spent in the water chasing toys, singing songs and strolling under London bridge :). She loved it...well at least we think she did. She was VERY focused in the pool, there was absolutely no messing around and the smiles were limited, but the splashes and kicks told us that she was having a good time and all of the other parents were impressed with the baby that truly appeared to be swimming in the pool! It is so funny how she approaches each new task with such an intense focus!
