June Events

She wasn't named after the month, but our little June Bug sure did enjoy the first full month of summer.  The first couple of weeks were cooler and rainy, but with each week the weather started to feel more and more like summer!

Madeline enjoyed her first trip to the zoo...wait let me rephrase that...Jeremy and Kate enjoyed their first trip to the zoo with Madeline.  Madeline napped.  She slept for a couple of hours while we hit up the rainforest and the first part of the outdoor loop.  She woke up for some food when we stopped for a beer...then fell asleep again during the second half of the outdooor loop!  I think we will bring her in the baby bjorn next time - the stroller puts her right to sleep!  She is young, but she is such an observer, we think she would be pretty entertained by the animals - especially those hungry goats!

Mikko was sad that she couldn't come to the zoo with us...good thing the zoo came to her!  She found this turtle on our nightly stroll and was so intrigued by it...I think she would  have liked the zoo :).

 Jeremy enjoyed his first fathers day.  Madeline made him some breakfast on the porch.  She made him a nice frame at daycare that is now on his desk at work. Jeremy's family came down for an afternoon of golf and dinner at Lola's.  Does it get any better than that - Happy Fathers Day!

We had lots of fun playing with our friends.  We had another play date with our friend Addison...Addie and Maddie "met" in baby class and were born about 2 weeks apart.  Adam and Kara ended up moving about 3 miles up the street from us in Chanhassen.  I ran into Kara a couple of weeks after Addison was born at Babies r Us and Jeremy and Adam ran into each other at the liquor store - we knew it was meant to be!  It has been so much fun to watch these little girls grow together.  Each visit gets more and more entertaining.  Although this visit we learned that Madeline is a toy hoarder.  She took all of Addison's toys and piled them up on her lap.  Good thing Addison was so busy scooting around the floor to even notice!  I asked Madeline's daycare if she does that at daycare - and they confirmed that she does steal all of the toys from the kids at daycare as well.  Looks like we will have some chats on sharing someday :).

We also got to hang out with Allie Cannon while our moms were hanging out with baby dylan.

and we got to hang out with Catherine and Nora and eat some pizza.  We were supposed to head to a parade...but the weather had other ideas - so we had coffee :).

It was a little less crazy when we got together the last time with all of the kids and puppies...but Madeline enjoyed playing with her friend Evelyn - they are only 4ish months apart and I know will be good friends someday :).

Last but not least, we went to our second Twins game together.  We got to see our Twinkies beat up on the Rockies and gave us bragging rights over my parents in Colorado.  Considering their hotshot shortstop broke his wrist the next night against the twins, I don't think the Twins are my parents favorite team right now :).  Don't ask us who the random guy in the picture is...we don't know!
