Catching up with the Andersen Girls (and families)

It started as a lunch conversation -- Chrissie and I were talking about how long it had been since we had seen some of the girls and even longer since we had seen some of the Andersen families.  So the invite went out and a date worked for almost everyone which is pretty amazing for this busy group of people!  It wasn't until the day before party that Jeremy and I realized just how many people that was!  It was a dreary Sunday morning, but the weather held for a fun BBQ and afternoon of chasing kids...I was reminded of what we have to look forward to :).

Kristi practiced her magic touch on Madeline...she sat on her lap for maybe 15 minutes before taking a nap on her lap for the entire afternoon -- which marks the second time that Madeline has just peacefully fallen asleep in Kristi's arms.  There have been plenty of nights I was hoping for that magic touch :).

Baby Max

Ian and Paige were the first kids to arrive - they gave the boys a good excuse to escape to the back yard to play some wiffleball...

Koby taking a break before chasing the bat around the backyard with Claire

Claire had a blast in the backyard chasing her soccer ball and the wiffleball bat.

We decided to try to take a picture of all of the kids...it was hilarious as all of the adults were behind the camera talking to all of the kids and trying to get them all to smile...you can tell as each of them is looking in a different direction :).
And Lauren and Madeline looked so cute in their matching outfits...we couldn't resist...Joan this will be your life again shortly!

It was such a great afternoon - hopefully our next family outing isn't too far in the future!

Stacy and Nic weren't able to make the festivities as they were up north with family...so we used one of the proposed picnic dates for an afternoon at the arboretum.  We packed a picnic and strolled around - it was a beautiful afternoon!  We will need to schedule our next play date in a stationary location as the kids slept through all of the great scenery through the arboretum.  The beauty of the stroller.
