Bluefin Bay - Day 2

We spent a lot of time staring out the windows at the lake, birds and beautiful north shore...

We started off day two with a trip to our favorite breakfast nook...the Koho Cafe...just a short walk up the lake path from our room...Madeline's pediatrician mentioned that when these little guys are ready for their first solid food, they start to take an interest in your food.  We took this as a good sign :).  The granola pancakes are my absolute favorite, and the apple walnut french toast was delicious as well.

We headed up to Cascade River state park with some awesome waterfalls and a hike to the top of lookout mountain.  Madeline literally talked the entire way up the mountain...and when we got to the top she was so exhausted, she passed out in my arms!

So the trip down the mountain looked a little more like this...

One more stop by the waterfall before heading back to the car.

It was a beautiful afternoon, so we decided to head a little farther north to Grand Marais.  We found this great restaurant right on the water -- the Angry Trout (highly recommended if you ever find yourself that far north!)...we asked if Mikko could join us on the deck as there weren't many people sitting outside, and they brought her her own dish of water!  She decided water wasn't good enough and made a move on my beer.

We LOVE the Angry Trout Cafe! We go up to Grand Marais almost every summer, and love stopping in. Chez Jude has a neat menu too. :-)Glad you guys are having a fun family vacation!
