And the itch didn't go away! Although I am sure Madeline is a pretty tough little girl, we decided not to subject her to the spring camping trip quite yet. Instead we made a last minute reservation at Bluefin Bay! And due some internet reservation issues, we were upgraded to a one bedroom, pet friendly condo. We walked in and immediately loved it -- it may be difficult to go back to the chilly camping outings :).
We stopped at our favorite Walleye gas station on the way up...my have things changed in a year - this is the pic last year when we went to the north shore cross country skiing...
And this year...
After a quick stop at Russ Kendall's for some smoked fish and a roadside blue moon we were on our way...
Unfortunately, it takes us a little longer to travel with the puppy and baby, but we were still able to get up to Bluefin in time for an afternoon hike. We picked one of the local favorites - Oberg Mountain. For those of you who truly know mountains, this is more like a bunny hill, but gave some pretty spectacular views of lake superior and the valley below.
After being called a Diva at daycare this week, I was very excited that we have a little happy hiker on our hands :).
We faced her out for the first time in the baby bjorn...and she was awake the entire hike looking around and smiling every time I turned around!
We truly lucked out with the weather this weekend...after weeks of 50's and rainy, this weekend has been spectacular! It is supposed to be n the high 60's and sunny for the rest of the weekend - more hiking adventures to come!
