NYC Day 2 - The Tourists Hit the Big City

On day 2, we took advantage of a beautiful day in NYC by seeing some sites. First, we headed off the Empire State Building. It was a long line, but we were able to entertain ourselves by hanging out with King Kong.

After about 40 minutes, we made it to the top. It is a spectacular view from the top!

I am not sure what spurred this on, but we had to talk Chicken off the ledge. Apparently, he was still upset that we did not bring him on the last adventure.
Fortunately, Kate, saved the day with her charm and wits!
After the Empire State Building, we headed south to Battery Park to catch the Staten Island Ferry. This provided us great views of both the NYC skyline and The Statue of Liberty.

The cruise provided us the first taste of the many interesting Halloween costumes we would see that night.

After the Ferry, we headed back to mid-Manhattan and explored FAO Schwartz.

Who can hit Fao Schwarz without paying a visit to the Giant Piano?

I had to have my picture taken next to Darth and Chewbacca.

Upon exiting FAO, we saw perhaps the coolest Apple Store in the country.

For dinner, we headed to Little Italy and caught a huge and very delicious Italian meal. When we returned from dinner, Kate's parents had arrived. So, we headed out to a pub to have a few drinks. After that we called it a night to get rested up for a spectacular Saturday!
