Dog Days of Summer

For most people that means living through those sweltering hot days in summer. For the Kirschbaum's living in Minnesota where is has barely touched above 80 degrees in the month of July - it means spending more time with your dog - Mikko!

Jeremy and are are still struggling with leaving Mikko home all day by herself while we are at work, so we try to do the best that we can to make it up to her on weekends. After a "weekender" bloody mary an and a sandwich called "Herman the German" at Floyd's in Waconia, we headed out to the lake Minnewashta dog park - Mikko's favorite! She made some new friends that she played really well with, although one dog led her into the mud pit and Mikko came out with mud splattered all over her body and black muddy socks covering her paws. Little did she know, that her actions of swimming in the mud would force us to make her go swimming in the lake to rinse her off.

We capped off the evening my making some taco salads on our porch...we picked the first jalepeno from our garden for it! We were so excited to enjoy some of the "fruits" of our labor :).
