On Friday, Kate picked me up and we started driving North. Hmm. Could it be Duluth, Tofte, Two Harbors?
We made our typical pit stop outside the Twin Cities to pay a visit to our friend the giant walleye.
We continued north to Duluth and hit the Fitger's brewhouse for a beer and dinner. After dinner we continued our journey 30 minutes north to Larsmont, our destination. It was late so we went to bed to get some rest for or Saturday adventure.
The next morning we arose to a beautiful North Shore morning.
We got back in the car and drove to Tettegouche State Park for some skiing and hiking.
We made it back to the hike-in cabins, which is way cooler than what I was thinking, which means it is super duper awesome! Kate showed me her favorite cabin right next to the lake.
On Sunday, we decided to hit Gooseberry falls. I had no idea they had such a big area for skiing! Plus, seeing these trails really makes me want to mountain bike up there this summer.
The trails offer great views!
After skiing, we had to check out the frozen falls. They offered a great chance for winter pictures of Kate and I.
That ended our day at Gooseberry. So, after saying goodbye to the deer, we headed back to the Twin Cities.
