These are a few of my favorite things...

As I sit at "croptoberfest" during the first nasty snowy, windy weekend of the year (which seems to happen every scrapbooking weekend!) I am quickly reminded what a beautiful fall we had, that thankfully stretched into the first couple weekends of November.

One of my personal favorites...a weekend where we didn't have much planned initially, turned into a great weekend -- good times with friends, and some amazing weather to enjoy some outdoor time!

The aboretum has 2 weekends a year you can bring your dogs to walk around the grounds.  We roped the Cannons and their dog Gabs into a little walking and dog fun!

The weather was great, the dogs were so excited to be with us, and the kids had no desire to be in the strollers, which made for a slow leisurely walk, but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way!











 On Sunday, despite our worries about the weather, we wandered to Taylors falls with the Shaffer's, bundled everyone up, walked about 15 steps into the woods, and realized we were ALL overdressed!  Madeline wasn't a huge fan of the backpack after we had been repeatedly letting her run around on her own. but the rocky terrain wasn't toddler friendly and the only solution was to have mom carry her - which was definitely a good workout.  Thank goodness she calmed down enough to let dad take the return trip with her :).








Last but not least, it has been nearly 2 years in the making, but we were able to get PIGGIES in madeline's hair for daycare this week!  She wasn't completely cooperative (which I could say with anything lately), but loved them and was so excited to show them first to Mikko, then to her teachers and friends at school.  Jeremy is still working on the pony, but perfecting it daily :).
